Slow Cooker Ribs
Ribs that are soft and full of flavor that are cooked slowly in a slow cooker and then finished under the broiler for a barbecue glaze that turns caramelized. Great for a meal without gluten!
Ingredients:
- 2 racks baby back ribs
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup gluten-free barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
Instructions:
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs
In a small bowl, mix together smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper
Rub the spice mixture all over the ribs
Place the ribs in the slow cooker, standing them up along the walls of the pot with the meaty side facing outward
Pour barbecue sauce and apple cider vinegar over the ribs
Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours, until the ribs are tender
Once cooked, carefully remove the ribs from the slow cooker and place them on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil
Brush with additional barbecue sauce if desired
Broil in the oven for 5-7 minutes, until the sauce is caramelized
Slice and serve hot
